MEETING OF THE WORSHIP TEAM,          TUESDAY, JULY 12, 2016

The meeting was opened with prayer and called to order by Pastor Kevin.

Present:    Dana Hartel, Ellen Smolinski, Pastor Kevin Heffernan,  Pam  Ulness, Cindy Hendren, Kristen Woods, Margaret Kohl

The majority of the meeting was dedicated to planning the outdoor church worship and picnic to be held on Sunday, July 31, in the park area of the Wolf River House on the east side of the Winneconne bridge.  Worship service is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. followed by a potluck picnic.  Meat, buns, and beverages will be provided by the church as well as some of the following supplies.  People are asked to bring their own chairs or blankets to sit on.

These people have volunteered to be responsible for the following:

  • Kristen Woods – Set up of tables, chairs, 3 or 4 pop-up tents, sound system, and electrical hookups/cords.
  • Valerie Gulke – Bring paper plates, cups, napkins, plastic tableware, trash bags, and beverages for the picnic (suggested was lemonade and water, possibly coffee).

Pastor Kevin – Bring lectern, table/s for communion, communion supplies as well as other misc. supplies that may be needed for the worship service.

Jody Kell – Arrange to have Guitar Band supply music for the worship service.

Cindy Hendren – Meat (suggested was wieners and sloppy joes) and buns for picnic sandwiches.

Kristen Woods mentioned that parking should not be a problem as there is enough area on the streets and other locations around the resort.

With regard to the Fall Season, the following plans are on the schedule:

Rally Sunday is scheduled for Sept. 11 with the start of Sunday School and a celebration of “Getting Back Together.”

Jody is planning to schedule another Super Music Sunday for Sept. 11. She is also planning to again have the “Guess the Composer” contest during the season of Advent, Nov. 27 to Dec. 18.

Pastor Kevin mentioned that the DIG Series covering five Sundays in October will focus on the “Writings of the Apostle Paul.”

The Packathon for Simple Hope is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 12.

Pastor Kevin encouraged team members to “think out of the box” for some diversions in future worship services. A suggestion was made for some type of short drama production during the worship service, possibly depicting a Bible story.  It was also suggested to have a special musical group for a worship service.  These ideas can be discussed further at the next meeting scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 27, 6:30 p.m.

There being no further business, Pastor Kevin adjourned the meeting and closed with prayer.  Respectfully submitted, Margaret Kohl, Recording Secretary
