MEETING OF THE WORSHIP TEAM
TUESDAY, APRIL 24, 2018
Pastor Kevin called the meeting to order and opened with prayer.
Present: Dana Hartel, Pastor Kevin Heffernan, Margaret Kohl, Lani Stanek, Ellen Smolinski, and Pam
Ulness.
Absent: Cindy Hendren, Jody Kell, Holly Nelson, and Kristen Woods
The main focus of the meeting was on the upcoming months of summer. Discussion was as follows:
WORSHIP AND ACTIVITIES DURING SUMMER MONTHS
● Sunday, May 13 – Super Sunday worship service with special music from the choir, guitar
band, and bell choir. Also Mother’s Day.
● Sunday, May 27 – The Boy Scouts are planning a short program in which they will present a
new United States flag to the church.
● Saturday, June 16 – Stacey Pethke has completed her ministry training and has accepted a
pastoral position in a church located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and will be ordained at
Lord of the Lakes. A reception will follow the ceremony.
● Sunday, June 24 – The ladies from the Simple Hope will join us to update all on their
continuing project in Tanzania.
● Sundays, June 24 through July – Christmas in July mission project with a Christmas tree and
people may select a tag(s) from the tree to provide necessary items to families in need, along
with possible “temple talks” during the worship services.
● Sunday, July 15 – Since parking around The Wolf River Inn is limited because of the bridge
and street construction, tentative plans for the worship service and picnic lunch will be held at
the church this year. Worship will be held in the Gathering Area with doors open to the back
yard area, if weather permits. The potluck picnic is to be served inside. People are invited to
bring their lawn chairs and eat outside or, if preferred, can eat inside, too.
● July 14 – 22 – Regarding the adult mission trip to Nicaragua, Pastor Kevin will speak with
Kathy Hergert to see if participants would be willing to tell about their experiences upon their
return at an upcoming worship service.

There being no further business, the meeting was closed with prayer by Pastor Kevin. The next
meeting of the Worship Team is scheduled for Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 6:30 p.m.
