{"id":3776,"date":"2021-12-21T16:58:58","date_gmt":"2021-12-21T16:58:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lordofthelakes.net\/?p=3776"},"modified":"2021-12-21T16:59:01","modified_gmt":"2021-12-21T16:59:01","slug":"december-14-2021-bldg-grounds-minutes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lordofthelakes.net\/index.php\/2021\/12\/21\/december-14-2021-bldg-grounds-minutes\/","title":{"rendered":"December 14, 2021 Bldg &#038; Grounds Minutes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[et_pb_section fb_built=&#8221;1&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;3.22&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;3.25&#8243; background_size=&#8221;initial&#8221; background_position=&#8221;top_left&#8221; background_repeat=&#8221;repeat&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;3.25&#8243; custom_padding=&#8221;|||&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; custom_padding__hover=&#8221;|||&#8221;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.2&#8243; background_size=&#8221;initial&#8221; background_position=&#8221;top_left&#8221; background_repeat=&#8221;repeat&#8221; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p>B&amp;G MINUTES \u2013&#8211; 12\/14\/21<\/p>\n<p><strong>PRESENT:<\/strong>\u00a0 Ben Manning, Daryl Ramlow, Dave Smolinski, Brad Gasper, Betts Zillges, Jan Olson, Rick Pierre, Guest: Wayne Ludkey<\/p>\n<p>Meeting opened at 3 pm by Ben; opening prayer per Betts<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Report on routine Maintenance<\/u><\/strong> per Brad:\u00a0 supplies of furnace filters as well as bags of salt for the water softener need to be replaced.\u00a0 We have enough salt through January.\u00a0 Brad states he does competitive pricing on supplies before ordering.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Basement partitions<\/u><\/strong> completed by Brad and Rick: total of 8 with sections now available to Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Youth and miscellaneous supplies.\u00a0 Cost $115 per unit. \u00a0Group toured the basement and while there is still organizing work to do, it looks great and they should be very satisfactory to take us into the future.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Sanctuary West exit door<\/u><\/strong> replaced and completed by Tri City Glass and Brad<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Canopy soffit<\/u><\/strong> was incidentally damaged by Van Zealand during landscaping project which they offered to repair and cover cost.\u00a0 Ben researched repair and cost per roofing company &#8212; $5,800.\u00a0 Brad offered to repair for much less than that and he now has the edging needed \u2013 done this week.\u00a0 Van Zealand then offered to reduce landscaping bill by $500 which we felt was fair.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Sanctuary HVAC AC repair:<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0 parts are here and Gartman will get scheduled before year-end; now scheduled for 12\/28 and Brad will meet them at 7:30 am.\u00a0 This will get it into the 2021 budget as requested.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Garbage Service change<\/u><\/strong>:\u00a0 GFL has been notified of discontinuance of their service via certified letter and Harter\u2019s (new to our area) has been contracted with a 1 yr contract.\u00a0 Savings of approximately $600\/year and service change-over will take place in March. Questions asked re: biweekly vs monthly pick-up.\u00a0 Jan unsure but will check with Lou Zwicky who had made the arrangements and is on vacation this week.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Replace Highway Sign<\/u><\/strong>:\u00a0 has been being worked on for some time by Tom from B&amp;G and Wayne from Council and narrowed down to 2 companies.\u00a0 Wayne did a side-by-side comparison of Appleton Sign\u2019s rendition and Creative Signs rendition with comparisons re: Basic Sign of sizes and features; Electronic Message Board, sizes and features; Warranties. \u00a0Daryl voiced that the base appears to be more durable with the Creative rendition, better graphics and sizing, and the company seemingly easier to work with. \u00a0After further discussion, a vote by 6 B&amp;G members resulted in a unanimous vote for Creative Signs in spite of pricing difference \u2013 felt Creative has the best value to take us into the future.\u00a0 Total cost quote:\u00a0 $43,400 plus incidental costs for permitting, running electricity to it which needs to be arranged by us.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Council\u2019s discussion<\/strong>:\u00a0 will go with B&amp;G\u2019s vote, pay $20,000 out of operations fund and do a fund raiser to pay for rest ($23,620).\u00a0 Jeff suggested anything over and above amount raised, we put to debt reduction and advertise as such to our members.\u00a0 Timeline discussed:\u00a0 start fundraising after Jan. 1 and target installation early Spring time.\u00a0 Various forms of fundraising were suggested.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Future B&amp;G projects<\/u><\/strong>:\u00a0 looking at adding to playground equipment \u2013 will bring Amy into the loop to see what needs are appropriate.\u00a0\u00a0 There were questions re: the age bracket we are targeting.\u00a0 It was suggested we put a portable basketball hoop at the east end of parking lot and they can use that pavement as a court.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Secondly, installation of flood lights to the back yard so our back area is usable in Spring and Fall when it gets dark so early.\u00a0 Brad and Daryl will work with Amy to see their needs to start with.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Keys and Emergency Call<\/u><\/strong>:\u00a0 Jan will work with office staff to see that Rick gets a master key and they will make the change to the Call List for US Fire Alliance.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Next Meeting<\/u><\/strong>:\u00a0 January 11<sup>th<\/sup> at 6:30<\/p>\n<p>Meeting closed at 4:10.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Respectfully submitted, Jan Olson, Secretary<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>B&amp;G MINUTES \u2013&#8211; 12\/14\/21 PRESENT:\u00a0 Ben Manning, Daryl Ramlow, Dave Smolinski, Brad Gasper, Betts Zillges, Jan Olson, Rick Pierre, Guest: Wayne Ludkey Meeting opened at 3 pm by Ben; opening prayer per Betts Report on routine Maintenance per Brad:\u00a0 supplies of furnace filters as well as bags of salt for the water softener need to [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":6,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_et_pb_use_builder":"on","_et_pb_old_content":"<p>Building & Grounds Minutes \u2013 Oct. 8, 2019<\/p><p>Present:\u00a0 Betts Nikolai, Daryl Ramlow, Lou Zwicky, Dave Smolinski, Tom Zillges, Kate Pfaendtner, Rick Pierre, Warren Winter, Brad Gasper, Jan Olson<\/p><p>Kate opened meeting at 6:30 with a prayer and then introduced herself to the group.\u00a0 Rick is also new to the group and was welcomed.<\/p><p><strong><u>Building Security<\/u><\/strong>: \u00a0Jill has asked we address the security system.\u00a0 The Swipe Card system has not worked in some time.\u00a0 The group suggested the best way of getting an accurate listing of who all has keys, if that is the issue, is to ask that everyone turn theirs back in and then those who really need theirs, are re-issued the appropriate level.\u00a0 No conclusion<\/p><p><strong><u>Fiber Optic Cable<\/u><\/strong>:\u00a0 As requested last month by Pr Kevin.\u00a0 Brad will work with Daryl who is familiar with the issue.\u00a0 Dave S. also offered to help.<\/p><p><strong><u>East Door Replacement<\/u><\/strong>:\u00a0 We will ask Albright Construction to do the project as LaForce has not been responsive.\u00a0 Since, Brad had Steve from Albright here \u2013 they need to work with Block Iron.\u00a0 They will move forward and the project should be done by Thanksgiving. Since we had previously signed a contract with LaForce, Kate will send a letter informing them that due to their non-response re: getting this scheduled, we have determined we need to go with another company.<\/p><p><strong><u>Sanctuary Ceiling<\/u><\/strong>:\u00a0 While Steve from Albright was here, he looked at our Sanctuary Ceiling.\u00a0 He says it can be spray painted with a newer type paint, that will not add much weight.\u00a0 He will be sending a quote.\u00a0 The alternative is to purchase the appropriate paint, rent the lift, etc. and Ed will donate the labor to do it.\u00a0 We have no timeline.<\/p><p><strong><u>Deferred Maintenance and\/or Replacement<\/u><\/strong>: Kate is asking that various items be looked at by a Vendor for estimated longevity and a quote for the purpose of hopefully building an emergency fund so we can repair\/replace as needs occur or be proactive prior to having a crisis. The following will be looked at:<\/p><ul><li>Youth Room \u2013 get quotes for upgrading basement including egress window, etc. vs adding a manufactured home vs a stick addition<\/li><li>Parking lot sealing and resurfacing<\/li><li>Roof repair\/replacement<\/li><li>Siding repair\/replacement<\/li><li>All flooring repair\/replacement \u2013 Betts meeting with A.
