Meeting was opened by Wayne.\u00a0 David presented the devotion<\/u> about showing compassion and taken from the book of Paul.<\/p>\n
Pastor Kevin\u2019s report<\/u>:\u00a0 Things are feeling more normal though it looks to be busier than the usual summer season at church.\u00a0 Attendance has slowly increased and that has been very good.\u00a0 People are slowly returning.\u00a0 Fellowship is also slowly returning between services.<\/p>\n
He and the family just returned from a week away and they had a very good time.<\/p>\n

Lord of the Lakes Council Meeting Financial Notes<\/u><\/strong> \u2013 June 15, 2021<\/u><\/p>\n The Operating Budget Total Net Surplus YTD<\/strong> as of May 2021\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 $30,076<\/p>\n The Operating Budget Total Net Surplus for Month<\/strong> of May 2021\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 $ 5,327<\/p>\n Total Cash in Operating Checking Account as of May 2021 is $112,673.14<\/strong><\/p>\n Total Cash in Special Events Checking Account as of May 2021 is $51,563.06<\/strong><\/p>\n (this includes the $29,500.00 in Holding)<\/strong><\/p>\n Total in Fortifi Investment Account as of March 2021 is $22,873.81<\/strong><\/p>\n Operating Budget Explanation:<\/strong><\/p>\n Our YTD income for Church Operations is higher than budgeted by $22,623.\u00a0 Our Regular Envelope\/Vanco\/Credit Card giving is higher than budgeted by $19,189 our Loose Offering is lower than budget by ($87).<\/p>\n We received Scrip proceeds as of May 2021 $2,600 of our Fiscal Year.<\/p>\n Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n We did budget for a ($11,862) Deficit YTD and our Actual Surplus YTD is $30,076<\/p>\n Financials are looking very good and there was discussion surrounding using some of our surplus for special projects or community outreach.<\/p>\n Discussed were:\u00a0 1) Contribute towards Youth Mission Trip \u2013 Pastor Kevin will check with Amy re: what their needs are at this point for this year.\u00a0 Perhaps set aside for another year to support changes to the trips that have been discussed.<\/p>\n \u00a02) The start of funds for an addition to give adequate room for Youth.\u00a0\u00a0 3) Build a baseball diamond on the east side of our property for use by Youth<\/p>\n 4) Sign replacement \u2013 Wayne suggested asking for ideas from members on what our sign should look like and how to accomplish that.\u00a0<\/p>\n Post-Covid Issues<\/strong>:<\/p>\n Communion process<\/u> discussed:\u00a0 Jan estimated per the financials, we are spending approx. $225 per month greater than budgeted, likely for the disposable sets.\u00a0\u00a0 It would cost close to $300 up front for communion trays, etc.\u00a0 So expense-wise it makes sense to purchase the trays in order to get back to a more personal communion process.\u00a0 However, she voiced the larger concern is finding volunteers to fill the small cups before each service.\u00a0<\/p>\n Due to the potential for contamination with Intinction, some voiced concern with ever going back to Intinction.\u00a0 Dianna, guest suggested we have people file up to get their disposable communion sets up front rather than having ushers hand out.\u00a0<\/p>\n For now, Ellen just ordered another approximately 6 week supply of the disposable sets.\u00a0 Pastor Kevin will give this some additional thought and we will table it until Fall.<\/p>\n Services: <\/u>Pastor will continue to record the U Tube sermons with 30-50 views per week.<\/p>\n Parking lot:\u00a0 it is thought that there are one or two out there yet, likely first service.\u00a0 It is suggested that an usher tour the lot at start time each service to be sure we are not missing people who have not come in to pick up bulletins and communion sets.<\/p>\n Sanitizing Chairs:\u00a0 it is felt this process should continue.<\/p>\n Employee Handbook<\/u>:\u00a0 David has reached out to Dawn Barber who works as an HR Director.\u00a0 They are meeting on June 30 to begin work on it.<\/p>\n Celebration of our 20th<\/sup> Anniversary and reopening<\/u>:\u00a0 Names were suggested for a committee and should have a couple charter members on the committee.\u00a0 Suggestions from this group:\u00a0 have it right after services on Sunday, 9\/12, invite guest speakers \u2013 Pr Gordon Estenson (now retired and still living in Minn.) and Pr Hanusa (if still healthy enough to do this), do some raffles as fun for the kids, etc. and \u2018mini\u2019 fundraiser for Youth, do a meal with LOL furnishing the main course.\u00a0 Jan will check the Charter board and start working on getting a committee together.\u00a0<\/p>\n Pastor Kevin closed meeting with a prayer and we then enjoyed the venue and Ice Cream Sundays.\u00a0<\/p>\n Respectfully submitted, Jan Olson, acting Secretary<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" June 15, 2021 COUNCIL MINUTES PRESENT: Wayne Ludkey, Apryl Brantley, Pastor Kevin, David Wein, John Macho, Jan Olson \u00a0\u00a0Guest: Dianna Donner Meeting was hosted by John Macho at his home \u2013 thank you John. Ongoing<\/p> Nursery Updates:\u00a0 Task.\u00a0 Sarah updated the Nursery to accommodate 0-3 year old children.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 nursery will still be unstaffed (there was not enough interest to get it staffed).\u00a0 There will<\/p> be new signage so that parents are aware that children are not to be unsupervised in the<\/p> nursery (she has heard that some older kids have been in there which resulted in<\/p> broken toys and untidiness).\u00a0 Council agreed to signage that says, \u201cWelcome to the<\/p> nursery.\u00a0 Please NO unsupervised children.\u201d<\/p> \u00a0<\/p> Financial Peace University (David Ramsey Debt Reduction program):\u00a0 Pastor Kevin said this program is set up and ready to run.\u00a0 This program will be open to the community and is not just for the congregation.\u00a0 Just need to recruit people to attend.<\/p> \u00a0<\/p> New Business<\/strong><\/p> \u00a0<\/strong><\/p> Pastor Kevin and Sarah Miller noted that there will be an outdoor service and pot luck on Rally Day (9\/8).<\/p> \u00a0<\/p> Sarah and Pastor Kevin will meet regarding when\/how Time and Talents will be rolled out
