There was no meeting in November.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Review of Financials<\/u><\/strong>:\u00a0 most attendees had seen the statement and there were no questions re: routine expenses.\u00a0 The question was asked of how the furnaces and our portion of roof expenses were paid for.\u00a0 Jan (on Council) explained that Lord of the Lakes has been hugely blessed through this Covid shut-down by giving from our membership as well as a PPP (Personnel Protection Plan) Grant that Council had applied for and was given through the SBA of WI back in May of 2020.\u00a0 Thus, we had enough money in our Operational Fund to make those payments without having to hold a fund raiser or borrow or refinance and add to our mortgage.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Review of Maintenance Schedule<\/u><\/strong>: Brad states it is up to-date though that is not reflected on the paper schedule in the office.\u00a0 He will be sure to update that.\u00a0 There was discussion on having an individual from the Team to volunteer to learn to do that in event Brad is unable to. This was a vital role that Warren had filled.\u00a0 Brad assured us he is healthy at this point and is able to carry out those responsibilities.\u00a0 Rick did volunteer to learn some of the duties and he and Brad will connect at some point.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>There were a couple Fire Alarms that went off in early morning hours while Brad was off ill.\u00a0 Daryl was called and did come in, was here a couple hours each time, working with the fire alarm company (CEC).\u00a0 Again, something Warren had previously done.\u00a0 Daryl is willing to continue to help in that role if Brad is unavailable.\u00a0 Thank you, Rick and Daryl for volunteering!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Electrical System Update<\/u><\/strong>: Daryl had replaced and installed the <strong>entry way electric heater<\/strong>.\u00a0 He noted a new one would cost $5-600 plus installation cost.\u00a0 He went on eBay and was able to find one for $150 that appeared in good shape.\u00a0 He installed it; it is working well \u2013 thank you Daryl!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Daryl had come into the church during the roof and furnace installation processes.\u00a0 He discovered Oshkosh H&amp;A had removed the <strong>Prolon control system and thermostats<\/strong> on the 3 furnaces that were removed and said they had discarded the equipment.\u00a0 He insisted they find it and bring it back.\u00a0 They did and that equipment is stored in the basement.\u00a0 It can be used for parts if needed on the systems remaining on the other 4 furnaces or ultimately sold if not needed.\u00a0 They are expensive systems.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Other:\u00a0 <strong><u>Outside Lights<\/u><\/strong>:\u00a0 Brad mentioned the timers have been changed as they weren\u2019t going off and on at proper times.\u00a0 They should go on at 4 pm and off at 10 pm due to various groups using our building in the evenings.\u00a0 There is a huge expense to having them on all night.\u00a0 However, the landscape lights should burn all night for security reasons.\u00a0 There is one parking lot light bulb that needs to be replaced when we next have a lift here.\u00a0 There are also two lights out on the canopy that will need to be changed when there\u2019s a lift here.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Lift<\/u><\/strong>:\u00a0 Daryl made mention that Tom had arranged for a couple guys to come in with a lift who were very good to work with and reasonable in cost last time we did outside lights.\u00a0 Brad states his neighbor is in the process of purchasing a bucket lift for his tree cutting business and may do him a favor and bring it over to get the needed lights done at little or no cost.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>West Sanctuary outside door<\/u><\/strong>:\u00a0 per Brad, hinges need to be replaced due to improper closure.\u00a0 Daryl has hinges from his previous employment and will work with Brad to see if those will work.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Garbage Pick Up Companies<\/u><\/strong>:\u00a0 Lou was made aware that we are contracted with Waste Management. That contract is good for 5 years and is up on 3-13-2022.\u00a0 The problem w that is we need to remember that as it will automatically update for another 5 years after that.\u00a0 Per contract, to get out of it we need to give a 60-120-day certified notice prior to cancelling and within the time of contract they can increase our fees.\u00a0 Lou will further research the alternatives we had previously decided to not use as they were only $10 per month cheaper than our present contractor (WM).\u00a0 Likely there may be issues with who owns the bins and need to purchase or have a different company bring bins in.\u00a0 We have some time since we are contracted till 3\/2022.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Railings<\/u><\/strong>: Brad is still researching best way of doing those.\u00a0 It has not been an issue as we are not going up for communion or having members go up to the stage area for any reason at this time due to Covid restrictions.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Trim Large Tree in Parking Lot<\/u><\/strong>:\u00a0 Tom knows an individual who is a Horticulturalist and very knowledgeable about trees.\u00a0 He was given permission by the group to ask this person to come out and tell us what we should be doing for care of that tree in order to preserve it as long as possible.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Jan distributed copies of our updated Constitution and the page that describes the operations of our B&amp;G Team.\u00a0 It is an FYI for B&amp;G members to keep in their records.\u00a0 <strong>Next Meeting:<\/strong>\u00a0 as needed and notices will go out.\u00a0 Closed meeting at 7:20.<\/p>\n<p>Respectfully submitted, Jan Olson, Secretary<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BUILDINGS &amp; GROUNDS MEETING December 8, 2020 PRESENT:\u00a0 Daryl Ramlow, Tom Zillges, Brad Gasper, Betts Nikolai, Rick Pierre, Lou Zwicky, Jan Olson Betts opened the meeting at 6:30 with an opening prayer. Betts called for a vote to approve our October 13 minutes.\u00a0 This is the meeting that we had with [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":6,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_et_pb_use_builder":"on","_et_pb_old_content":"<p>Building & Grounds Minutes \u2013 Oct. 8, 2019<\/p><p>Present:\u00a0 Betts Nikolai, Daryl Ramlow, Lou Zwicky, Dave Smolinski, Tom Zillges, Kate Pfaendtner, Rick Pierre, Warren Winter, Brad Gasper, Jan Olson<\/p><p>Kate opened meeting at 6:30 with a prayer and then introduced herself to the group.\u00a0 Rick is also new to the group and was welcomed.<\/p><p><strong><u>Building Security<\/u><\/strong>: \u00a0Jill has asked we address the security system.\u00a0 The Swipe Card system has not worked in some time.\u00a0 The group suggested the best way of getting an accurate listing of who all has keys, if that is the issue, is to ask that everyone turn theirs back in and then those who really need theirs, are re-issued the appropriate level.\u00a0 No conclusion<\/p><p><strong><u>Fiber Optic Cable<\/u><\/strong>:\u00a0 As requested last month by Pr Kevin.\u00a0 Brad will work with Daryl who is familiar with the issue.\u00a0 Dave S. also offered to help.<\/p><p><strong><u>East Door Replacement<\/u><\/strong>:\u00a0 We will ask Albright Construction to do the project as LaForce has not been responsive.\u00a0 Since, Brad had Steve from Albright here \u2013 they need to work with Block Iron.\u00a0 They will move forward and the project should be done by Thanksgiving. Since we had previously signed a contract with LaForce, Kate will send a letter informing them that due to their non-response re: getting this scheduled, we have determined we need to go with another company.<\/p><p><strong><u>Sanctuary Ceiling<\/u><\/strong>:\u00a0 While Steve from Albright was here, he looked at our Sanctuary Ceiling.\u00a0 He says it can be spray painted with a newer type paint, that will not add much weight.\u00a0 He will be sending a quote.\u00a0 The alternative is to purchase the appropriate paint, rent the lift, etc. and Ed will donate the labor to do it.\u00a0 We have no timeline.<\/p><p><strong><u>Deferred Maintenance and\/or Replacement<\/u><\/strong>: Kate is asking that various items be looked at by a Vendor for estimated longevity and a quote for the purpose of hopefully building an emergency fund so we can repair\/replace as needs occur or be proactive prior to having a crisis. The following will be looked at:<\/p><ul><li>Youth Room \u2013 get quotes for upgrading basement including egress window, etc. vs adding a manufactured home vs a stick addition<\/li><li>Parking lot sealing and resurfacing<\/li><li>Roof repair\/replacement<\/li><li>Siding repair\/replacement<\/li><li>All flooring repair\/replacement \u2013 Betts meeting with A.
