BUILDING & GROUNDS MINUTES:\u00a0 December 10, 2019.\u00a0<\/p>\n

PRESENT:\u00a0 Kate Pfaendtner, Rick Pierre, Lou Zwicky, Warren Winter, Dave Smolinski, Betts Nikolai, Brad Gasper, Tom Zillges, Jan Olson<\/p>\n

Kate opened the meeting at 6:30 with a prayer.\u00a0 There were no visitors.<\/p>\n

BUNN COFFEE MAKER<\/u><\/strong>:\u00a0 Purchased and set-up in the Breakfast Bar area along with various coffee supplies now stored in that area.\u00a0 There are directions on use posted in the area along with a note to keep it plugged in.\u00a0 Kate will ask Doris to track energy bills for the first month to see if the coffee maker heating water intermittently causes a large jump in cost.\u00a0 If so, we will then go to having it unplugged and it will need to be plugged in at least 20 minutes prior to use.\u00a0 A huge thank you to the anonymous donor of this coffee maker.\u00a0 To give us a jump start, we also have a large supply of prepacked packets of coffee \u2013 donated by a 2nd<\/sup> anonymous donor.\u00a0 Kate is working with Jill\/Ellen with a process of ordering coffee and other kitchen supplies on-line.\u00a0<\/p>\n

ELECTRICAL UPGRADE<\/u><\/strong>:\u00a0 deferred until Daryl is present.\u00a0 In the interim, Kate will try to meet with Daryl and Warren re:\u00a0 electrical needs.\u00a0<\/p>\n

FIBER OPTIC CABLE<\/u><\/strong>: in Sanctuary.\u00a0 Brad is costing out supplies.\u00a0 Actual installation will depend on when we rent the aerial lift.\u00a0<\/p>\n

EAST DOOR REPLACEMENT<\/u><\/strong>:\u00a0 Per Tom, it is ready to be installed and now awaiting warmer weather \u2013 perhaps the end of this week.\u00a0 That will cause that area to be open for some time but can be done in one day.\u00a0 The repair will also include the south wall next to the door which is covered by sheet rock right now.\u00a0 Per Warren, this was from a previous frozen\/broken water pipe repair.\u00a0<\/p>\n

CARPET CLEANER<\/u><\/strong>: Per Betts, John Abraham states the machine is in working order but is having difficulty getting the dry cleaner that goes with this machine.\u00a0 Betts states she found another product on-line and will be checking with John if this will work.\u00a0 Otherwise, John is still trying to find the product that goes with the machine though it has been ordered and is on back order.\u00a0<\/p>\n

SANCTUARY CEILING:<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0 Kate reported Ed Veith is recommending using a latex, very rapid drying, non-splatter paint but unsure if it will cover the discolored areas.\u00a0 He will try putting a small area on to see if it covers.\u00a0 The alternative is an oil-based paint which will cause increased weight on the ceiling as well as be difficult to work with due to splatter and weight and need for use of respirators and other safety gear to install.\u00a0 We still don\u2019t have an answer re: paint interrupting the acoustical properties of the ceiling. More research needed:\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kate to research a bid on ceiling replacement versus cost of paint with Ed donating his labor.\u00a0 Kate will also check with the Director at the Winneconne PAC to see his knowledge or a recommendation of who to contact re: acoustic concern.\u00a0\u00a0 She will also make contact with Dave Williamson who was involved with initial choice of this ceiling.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Brad to research cost of Lift with articulating arm rental as well as cost and logistics of putting collars on diffusor plates to help divert the heat and air blowing directly on the ceilings.\u00a0<\/p>\n

DEFFERED MAINTENANCE<\/u><\/strong>:\u00a0 HVAC \u2013 per Brad, Ryf will be getting back to us with quotes on replacement of furnaces and air conditioners. It will likely be a while as this is their busy season.\u00a0 \u00a0ELECTRICAL \u2013 as above with Kate meeting with Daryl and Warren.<\/p>\n

HALLWAY PAINTING<\/u><\/strong>:\u00a0 Still not completed.\u00a0 Betts will continue to try to get an answer from Ray.<\/p>\n

BRAD\u2019S REPORT<\/u><\/strong>:\u00a0 In addition to routine duties, he installed the 2 speakers in the Gathering Space, replaced various bulbs in our Christmas decorations, helped greatly with getting the church decorated for Christmas, and met with the Alarm Testing company.\u00a0 In that process we queried him about putting partitions in the basement for the Boy Scout project and as long as the partitions don\u2019t go all the way to the ceiling, it should be fine re: location and fire codes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Building & Grounds Minutes \u2013 Oct. 8, 2019<\/p>

Present:\u00a0 Betts Nikolai, Daryl Ramlow, Lou Zwicky, Dave Smolinski, Tom Zillges, Kate Pfaendtner, Rick Pierre, Warren Winter, Brad Gasper, Jan Olson<\/p>

Kate opened meeting at 6:30 with a prayer and then introduced herself to the group.\u00a0 Rick is also new to the group and was welcomed.<\/p>

Building Security<\/u><\/strong>: \u00a0Jill has asked we address the security system.\u00a0 The Swipe Card system has not worked in some time.\u00a0 The group suggested the best way of getting an accurate listing of who all has keys, if that is the issue, is to ask that everyone turn theirs back in and then those who really need theirs, are re-issued the appropriate level.\u00a0 No conclusion<\/p>

Fiber Optic Cable<\/u><\/strong>:\u00a0 As requested last month by Pr Kevin.\u00a0 Brad will work with Daryl who is familiar with the issue.\u00a0 Dave S. also offered to help.<\/p>

East Door Replacement<\/u><\/strong>:\u00a0 We will ask Albright Construction to do the project as LaForce has not been responsive.\u00a0 Since, Brad had Steve from Albright here \u2013 they need to work with Block Iron.\u00a0 They will move forward and the project should be done by Thanksgiving. Since we had previously signed a contract with LaForce, Kate will send a letter informing them that due to their non-response re: getting this scheduled, we have determined we need to go with another company.<\/p>

Sanctuary Ceiling<\/u><\/strong>:\u00a0 While Steve from Albright was here, he looked at our Sanctuary Ceiling.\u00a0 He says it can be spray painted with a newer type paint, that will not add much weight.\u00a0 He will be sending a quote.\u00a0 The alternative is to purchase the appropriate paint, rent the lift, etc. and Ed will donate the labor to do it.\u00a0 We have no timeline.<\/p>

Deferred Maintenance and\/or Replacement<\/u><\/strong>: Kate is asking that various items be looked at by a Vendor for estimated longevity and a quote for the purpose of hopefully building an emergency fund so we can repair\/replace as needs occur or be proactive prior to having a crisis. The following will be looked at:<\/p>
