MEETING OF THE WORSHIP TEAM
\nTUESDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2018
\nPastor Kevin called the meeting to order and opened with
\nprayer.
\nPresent: Dana Hartel, Pastor Kevin Heffernan, Margaret Kohl, Ellen Smolinski, Lani Stanek, Pam
\nUlness, and Kristen Woods.
\nAbsent: Valerie Gulke, Cindy Hendren, Jody Kell, and Holly Nelson.
\nPastor Kevin announced that Valerie Gulke will not be taking care of and decorating the altar because
\nof other personal obligations. Jody Kell volunteered to continue this service through the Christmas
\nseason. A \u201cCandy Cane\u201d theme is planned for the sanctuary and gathering area to depict the spiritual
\nstory of the candy cane. Pastor encouraged any willing candidate to give thought and prayer to
\nvolunteer for servicing the altar. Please let him know if you are willing to do so.
\nTo encourage flowers for our Sunday worship services, the office staff will be asked to include an
\ninsert in future Sunday bulletins and Newsletters reminding people of the Flower Chart posted in the
\ngathering area, requesting them to consider signing up to honor such events such as birthdays,
\nanniversaries, first communion, confirmation, baptism, etc.
\nRegarding the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons, discussion was as follows:
\nTHANKSGIVING SEASON
\n\uf075 Worship service is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 20, at 6:30 p.m. at Lord of the Lakes.
\nNon-perishable food items will be encouraged for the Winneconne Area Food Pantry.
\nMargaret suggested having a large cornucopia on the altar to receive food items brought by
\nworshipers. We may have one stored in the basement or Pastor Kevin will speak with
\nTammie Voelkel-Fox about the possibility of constructing one.
\nCHRISTMAS SEASON
\n\uf075 Christmas trimming of the sanctuary and gathering area is planned for Thursday, Nov. 29, at
\n10:00 a.m. Please join in this fun and fellowship!
\n\uf075 Lani suggested the idea of having a photo booth where individuals or families could have a
\ncandid picture taken for the Christmas season and this suggestion will be considered further.
\n\uf075 Evening Advent services are planned to begin on Wednesday, Dec. 4. Jody is again planning
\nto have the challenge of guessing the composer of prelude music at the Sunday worship services
\nwith a prize to the winner.

\n\uf075 Christmas Eve services are scheduled on Monday, December 24, at 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
\nBoth will be traditional services with Christmas carols. The choir will again sing \u201cSilent Night\u201d
\nin German. Lani suggested \u201cO Holy Night\u201d at the end of the services either as a solo or done
\nby the entire congregation.
\n\uf075 A Christmas Day service is tentatively planned for December 25 at 10:00 a.m.
\nThere being no further business, Pastor Kevin closed with prayer. The next meeting of the Worship
\nTeam is scheduled for Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at 6:30 p.m. Any interested persons are invited to
\njoin the meeting.
