Lord of the Lakes Council Meeting May 15th<\/sup> 2018<\/p>\n

Present:\u00a0 Pastor Kevin, Drew Jaeger, Joe Groholski , Gail Gardner, Kari Nigl<\/p>\n

Opening prayer by Pastor Kevin<\/p>\n

Pastor\u2019s Report \u2013 Good month for the church.\u00a0 Father is on hospice.<\/p>\n

Buildings and Grounds \u2013 We need a new industrial style compressor for the sprinkler system, that also needs to be hard-wired.\u00a0 A slow air leak in the system is being looked into by US Fire Alliance.\u00a0 There is an underground conduit that leads to the condensing unit, on the southwest end of the building that does not meet code.\u00a0 Joe will check into it.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Men\u2019s Group will be pouring a new patio\/concrete slab, thanks to an anonymous donor. \u00a0Joe is recommending it be anchored to the existing foundation to prevent shifting.<\/p>\n

Worship \u2013 Team met a few weeks ago.\u00a0 Summer was planned.\u00a0 Due to the bridge construction, our annual Church Picnic will be held at our church on July 15th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

Annual meeting is this Sunday at 1100.\u00a0 All Council members please try to attend, and sign up for the potluck.<\/p>\n

Youth \u2013 They are getting ready for their annual Mission trip Minneapolis.<\/p>\n

Finances\/Budget \u2013 (+) $4679 for the month of April.\u00a0 See Gail\u2019s report for more details.\u00a0 In May we received a $1000 Script check.\u00a0 The new budget has a (-) $1837 loss; that includes paying extra $17,000 to principle and additional $7000 to the ELCA if budget allows at the end of the year.\u00a0\u00a0 Mortgage balance is down to $955,604 after April payment.\u00a0\u00a0 We gave $33,383 additional benevolences this past year, which has gone up considerably over the years.\u00a0 Verified that money from Easter breakfast goes to the music department ($336).<\/p>\n

Stewardship \u2013 Nothing different at this time.\u00a0 Continue to mention the e-giving.<\/p>\n

Old Business \u2013<\/p>\n

Sunday School program met last month and there will be some changes coming.\u00a0 Younger kids will continue to be lead by Sarah Walsh.\u00a0 3-5th<\/sup> grades will be led by Tammy Vogel Fox with a new curriculum, and Courtney will lead 6-8th grades.\u00a0 All grades will come together once per month to perform skits for the congregation. \u00a0Future meeting at Beth Sommer\u2019s house to discuss further details.<\/p>\n

Endowment Update \u2013 Geoff to plan a meeting for next month.<\/p>\n

New Business –<\/p>\n

Security Cameras \u2013 This is something Wayne and Joe will look into in the future.<\/p>\n

Facebook Page \u2013 Wayne wrote a statement to allow church sponsored events only.\u00a0 Thank you Wayne for working closely with Sarah Miller.\u00a0 It is exciting to see our presence on social media.<\/p>\n

Council liaison meetings \u2013 Reminder to current council members and the committees they help represent:\u00a0 Ken youth, Pastor Kevin worship, Gail business, Joe B&G<\/p>\n
