Lord of the Lakes Council Meeting, March 20, 2018<\/p>\n
Attendance:\u00a0 Geoff Hendren, Gail Gardner, Ken Mueller, Wayne Ludkey, Kari Nigl, Pastor Kevin, Special guests Kate Pfaendtner and Vern Olson.<\/p>\n
Opening \u00a0Devotion by Wayne.<\/p>\n
Time and Talent sheet update by Kate.\u00a0 Will have a \u201ctalent fair\u201d between services on 4\/22 and 4\/29 to help answer questions.<\/p>\n
Kate and Vern spoke about the benefits of moving our endowment fund to the Winneconne Area \/ Oshkosh Area Community Foundation. \u00a0We currently have an endowment fund in a regular savings account.\u00a0 \u00a0A meeting will be set up with the people from the OACF to come and explain the endowment fund.\u00a0 This is an opportunity for the people of the church to be able to leave a lasting legacy.\u00a0 The \u00a0Business Management Team and anyone interested should attend.<\/p>\n
Team Reports<\/strong><\/p>\n Pastor\u2019s Report: \u00a0A very busy month with Lenten Services and Holy Week approaching.\u00a0 Confirmation, First Communion, New Members class, Men\u2019s Ministry group, and Mental Health focus has kept Pastor busy.<\/p>\n Buildings and Grounds: \u00a0There was a compressor issue with HVAC. \u00a0Mention to Tim how cold it was last week in church. \u00a0There has been some discussion about repainting back hallway.\u00a0 Pouring a concrete slab by picnic tables out back (men\u2019s group project).\u00a0 Tom Zillges is working on estimates for lawn maintenance and parking lot improvements.\u00a0 Sound system has been fixed, for now.<\/p>\n Worship:\u00a0 Reconvene after Easter<\/p>\n Youth:\u00a0 Meeting tomorrow night<\/p>\n Finances\/Budget:\u00a0\u00a0 See Gail\u2019s report.\u00a0 $18,655 ahead.\u00a0 Proposed Budget discussion.\u00a0 Changes to be voted on next month.\u00a0 We would like to move from fiscal year to calendar year. This will need to be voted on at the annual meeting.<\/p>\n Stewardship:\u00a0 Give+ needs to be encouraged.\u00a0 Assure red note pads are stocked with the Electronic giving cards.<\/p>\n Old Business<\/strong><\/p>\n Ellen job share \u2013 Jill has cut down from 28 to 18 hrs per week, Ellen works 10 hrs per week.<\/p>\n Gail will send out employee letters after the annual meeting.<\/p>\n New Business<\/strong><\/p>\n Synod Assembly May 18-19:\u00a0 Pastor will attend.<\/p>\n Nominating committee for Council:\u00a0 Council members from last 1-2 years will need to recruits nominees.\u00a0 Geoff will reach out to them.
