Pastor opened the meeting with a prayer.<\/p>\n
Team Reports<\/strong><\/p>\n Pastor\u2019s Report<\/p>\n -Pastor Kevin updated us on his month.\u00a0 There will be a new member\u2019s class in September.\u00a0 Fall is a busy time.<\/p>\n Building & Grounds<\/p>\n -Looking to move forward with getting the cracks filled in the parking lot.\u00a0 Grant money from the Thrift will be used to start replacing lights with LED.<\/p>\n Worship<\/p>\n -Planning will start for the 500th<\/sup> year of the Reformation, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.<\/p>\n Youth<\/p>\n -Drew gave us an overview on the Kansas City Mission Trip.\u00a0 9 youth traveled.\u00a0 It was a fantastic, challenging success.\u00a0 How can we get more kids involved?\u00a0 Courtney is looking at more local, smaller scale community service projects.<\/p>\n Finance<\/p>\n -Gail updated council the past monthly finances. It was the best July yet! \u00a0Please refer to her report.<\/p>\n Stewardship<\/p>\n -Share and Care Program on hold.<\/p>\n Old Business<\/strong><\/p>\n Maintenance person position \u2013 We have 2 applicants, will be extending an offer next week.<\/p>\n New Business<\/strong><\/p>\n -Sunday school and Youth update \u2013 The new Sunday school program is designed to bring adults into the classrooms and create a bond between kids and adults.\u00a0 Looking for 2 adults to lead a theme each month.\u00a0 The details will be sorted out in the next month.<\/p>\n -Electronic giving \u2013 Wayne presented the Council with an option through our current vendor, Vanco, called \u201cGiving+ Online.\u201d\u00a0 This will allow people a very simple option of donating online, through our website.\u00a0 It does carry slightly higher fees than Simply Giving, but Council voted to move forward with this option.<\/p>\n -Mental health program update – Pastor Kevin will be attending the first meeting on 9\/14.\u00a0 This is a breakthrough concept, and will be one of the first programs of its kind in the country! Looking for volunteers for the team.<\/p>\n -Council retreat \u2013 tentative date Saturday morning, 9\/30\/17.
