{"id":1864,"date":"2016-10-20T18:19:27","date_gmt":"2016-10-20T18:19:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lordofthelakes.net\/?p=1864"},"modified":"2016-10-20T18:19:27","modified_gmt":"2016-10-20T18:19:27","slug":"oct-2016-council-minutes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lordofthelakes.net\/index.php\/2016\/10\/20\/oct-2016-council-minutes\/","title":{"rendered":"Oct 2016 Council minutes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Lord of the Lakes Council, Oc<\/strong><strong>tober 18, 2016<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Attendance:\u00a0 Geoff Hendren<\/strong>, <strong>Terry Korus, Pastor Kevin Heffernan, Gail Gardner, Ken Mueller, Drew Jaeger, Kari Nigl, Kerry Arent, Joe Groholski<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Kari Nigl shared a devotion. \u00a0Pastor opened the meeting with a prayer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Team Reports:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pastor\u2019s Report<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pastor Kevin updated us on his month.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Building &amp; Grounds<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Joe updated on Building &amp; Grounds. The periodic fire inspections have been completed.\u00a0 6 is fall clean up Sunday after the 10:00 service.\u00a0 The HVAC system bugs seem to be resolved now.\u00a0 Neil will be the back up to Terry on the computer side of the HVAC system.\u00a0 To help manage cost, the decision has been made to delay hiring a maintenance person.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Worship<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>DIG is underway. The group is getting ready for Christmas and Advent.\u00a0 Special decorations are planned for this year.\u00a0 The Fun Festival was Saturday with approximately 140 attending. People had fun and stuck around!\u00a0 Approximately $5,000 was raised.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Youth<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Ken reported that Kansas City will be the 2017 mission trip destination.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Finance<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We did budget for a ($9,845) Loss YTD and our Actual Loss YTD is ($9,841).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mortgage Update \u2013 Terry Korus is working on refinancing the church mortgage. We are approved for a 3.75% mortgage with a new credit union.\u00a0 This comes with restrictions that still need further negotiation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Stewardship<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The annual giving update letter was sent last week.
