<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/strong><\/p>\n WORSHIP ASSISTANT ROLES<\/strong><\/p>\n Our Worship Assistant Schedules are created every four months by our Volunteer Coordinator, Deb Ruedinger. If you are unable to serve at the service you are scheduled for, please find a replacement from the list provided.\u00a0\u00a0This is a vital part of the Lord of the Lakes ministry & we appreciate your willingness to assist on Sunday mornings!\u00a0If you have not been included and would like to serve, please message Deb at 863-634-9794 (cell phone).<\/em><\/p>\n Readers<\/strong>\u00a0read the First Reading<\/em> at our Worship Service. We view it as a ministry to the whole congregation.\u00a0 The office will send you a copy of the reading early in the week so that you can prepare yourself ahead of time.\u00a0 There is also a copy of the reading at the lectern.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Greeters <\/strong>arrive twenty-30 minutes prior to the beginning of service to welcome people to Lord of the Lakes!\u00a0 You are the first ambassador of Christ\u2019s love for all the people entering our doors; whether they are new or attend every Sunday!\u00a0 Your smile is a gift you should give generously along with welcoming words like \u201cHello\u201d, It\u2019s great to see you\u201d, \u201cGood morning\u201d or Welcome!\u201d Invite everyone to create a name tag and wear it. Please direct first-time visitors to the Sanctuary and assist with any other needs they may have.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Communion Assistants<\/strong> help\u00a0distribute the wine.\u00a0 Pastor will ask the Assistants to come forward at the appropriate time.\u00a0 The Pastor will hand you two cups: wine and juice.\u00a0 When the wafer is dipped into the cup,\u00a0the Assistant\u00a0says, \u201cThe blood of Christ, shed for you\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0 Two Assistants are scheduled for every service.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Coffee Fellowship Team<\/strong> is our Sunday morning hospitality group who serves coffee, milk, juice, and snacks between services (9am \u2013 10am).\u00a0 Each team has a chairperson and two-three helpers. Please arrive at church by 7:30am to make coffee and set up before the 8am worship.\u00a0 The Chairperson contacts the helpers midweek and asks them to bring one item \u2013 bakery, fruit, or cheese and crackers.\u00a0 The Chair will make sure we have adequate milk and juice on hand and purchase if necessary. The receipt can be submitted for reimbursement.\u00a0 The team begins cleanup at 9:45am.<\/p>\n Ushers\u00a0rotate weekly.<\/strong> A complete list of duties is mailed out with each new rotation schedule. The duties are also posted in the usher cabinet. Ushers arrive at church 30 minutes prior to Worship.\u00a0\u00a0Ushers assure us that our services run smoothly. They hand out bulletins, assist with seating, if necessary, distribute the Friendship pads, count the people present and record in the logbook, collect the offering and assist with ushering people forward to receive communion beginning with the front row. At the end of the service, they collect the Friendship pads and check for personal items left behind.\u00a0 Be alert to anyone needing assistance.<\/p>\n Thank you to all who have volunteered to serve our Lord as Worship Assistants and on the Coffee Fellowship Teams.
